I'm going to share with you about the deceptive notion that you can't have dessert if you are trying to be healthy and why my friend - Carolyn Hansen has got this figured out.

A raw dessert no more means only a mere piece of fruit or a handful of nuts. While some may think of children with "visions of sugarplums" dancing in their heads, the dreams of raw dessert chefs more likely spring from Medjool dates, cacao nibs and fruits. That's because raw desserts are made from uncooked, minimally processed and broadly plant-based foods.

Raw foods aficionados say they're generally first attracted to this sort of food preparation as the recipes don't contain wheat, refined sugar, eggs or dairy products, which does away with the need to work around a lot of food sensitivities. Plus, they feel better after they've consumed a raw foods dessert, which might feature nuts, fresh and dried fruits, agave nectar and/or chocolate.
